PGA golf at Bethpage

This week the PGA golf Tournament is at Bethpage NY on Long Island during the week of May 15-19, 2019. This is a great publicity for the public golf course on Long Island. I have lived on Long Island all my life but had never been to the Bethpage Park until this week.

I started golfing when I was in my college days when I was looking for a sport that I could enjoy the outdoors and walk. Both are two things I enjoy doing in all the warmer months of the year.

We went by taking the LIRR to farmingdale NY and then boarded a bus to the course. We arrived and it was amazing seeing the course, as we drove up we saw the yellow course hole adjacent to the bus stop. We walked through the gates to see the PGA Store and the 101st trophy.

As part of the visit we got to see Phil Mickelson hot off the tee box. Here is the video

Standing on the first hole

I was amazed how they put stands over the back of the greens. Here is a look at the stands at 14

Look at how pretty this hole is when you are just enjoying the outdoors. This is hole 16 on the black course.
